Phrases of Heart❤️

"दिल का दरिया बह ही गया,

राह में यूँ जो तु मिल गया.."

Okay, just wait a minute. Is there really anything like sea or river of Heart? Nothing, right? Now this feels quite illogical. Actually, this is not the first one like this. From late 60's songs by Mohammed Rafi "दिल की आवाज़ भी सुन" from the movie "हमसाया" till today, we are listening to many more songs like these. We are liking them and enjoying them as well. Our musical industry uses this "दिल" word much frequently by composing poetic phrases with it. And this has just made us forget the real meaning of the word "दिल" i.e. "The Heart". Well, let's take a look at that.

As we all know that, the heart is a hollow muscular organ, which pumps blood through the blood vessels of the circulatory system. The pumped blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the body, while carrying metabolic waste such as carbon dioxide to the lungs. In humans, the heart is divided into four chambers: upper left and right atria and lower left and right ventricles. Out of which the right part receives and pumps deoxygenated blood while the left side oxygenated.

So from next time onwards, if someone asks you "तुम्हारे दिल में मेरे लिए कितनी जगह है?". Don't forget to answer "4 Chambers जितनी". Hahaha..jokes apart, let me tell you one more exciting thing about the heart. All organisms bear one heart for their whole life but women get a chance to get two. Don't go into a poetic way again. Let's take a look at

"तृतीय मास युक्तानि तु द्वैहृदय्यस्य च लिङ्गानि भवन्ति|"

shloka from Ayurvedic Samhitas. It mentions that the foetus in the mother's womb takes 3 months to form the heart. So the pregnant woman in her 3rd month of pregnancy bears 2 hearts, one of her own and another one of the foetus called as "द्वौ हृदिनी". That's another phenomenon why mother and child have been connected so strongly as since 3 months of pregnancy till delivery, 2 hearts live to complete one body of mother. Now isn't that much romantic and feels fuller than those songs, that how we get connected to mother from the very beginning.

Well, explaining all these things have some importance today as it's 29th of September. It is the day when "World Heart Day"  gets celebrated globally. As many people are unaware of Cardiovascular diseases(CVD) and their primary measures like CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) if given in stipulated time of heart attack cases, it can be life saving. Nowadays, people have idea about heart diseases but they immensely ignore the root cause, that is, increased cholesterol level. High cholesterol level in blood hampers the efficacy of heart, which leads to arrival of CVD. And also due to darkness of knowledge in heart health and care taking in blockage like conditions which can be kept in check by technical methods i.e. angiography, ECG,etc. can help to lower the cases for heart failure and bypass surgeries.

So in May 2012, world leaders committed to reducing global mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by 25% by 2025. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is accountable for nearly half of all NCD deaths making it the world’s number one killer. World Heart Day is, therefore, the perfect platform for the (CVD) community to unite in the fight against (CVD) and reduce the global disease burden.

Created by the World Heart Federation, World Heart Day informs people around the globe that CVD, including heart disease and stroke, is the world’s leading cause of death claiming 17.9 million lives each year, and highlights the actions that individuals can take to prevent and control CVD. It aims to drive action to educate people that by controlling risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity, at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided. By spreading this awareness let's fight against the CVD burden, inspire and encourage heart-healthy living across the world. Make believe in a world where heart health for everyone is a fundamental human right and a crucial element of global health justice.

Taking care of the heart should start from ourselves. As one said "Keep loving your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead". So take care of your and your loved ones heart. Hoping for less heart diseases.
