C-section is becoming a money making practice in India

C-section is becoming a money making practice in India

One of the most wonderful experiences that a woman can have is bringing her baby into this world, where she has to encounter unbearable pain followed by immeasurable joy. Generally babies should  be delivered through the vaginal delivery process which is a natural method of birth. But in certain complications due to a variety of reasons such as abnormal positioning of the child, lifestyles of today's women or the lack of care where some ladies who do not work or do light exercise during pregnancy have to go for the Cesarean process. Now the question arises how many c-section deliveries are really needed out of the c-section deliveries that are actually being practiced. A study shows that there were around 9 lakh preventable unplanned c-section deliveries practiced in private hospitals of India in one year.
A mother gives birth to the baby but the doctor is a life saviour person for both the child and its mother, where we believe them(doctors) as our living gods. But in today's greedy world is our living God being fair with his bhaktas?
Doctors get paid much more for a surgical procedure than a vaginal delivery, where the hospitals have the potential to rake in money for a patient's longer stay and medical attention. Hospitals are not always working in the interests of their patients, but rather in the interests of their schedules and wallets. Where it may happen that the medical graduates tend to perform the lucrative procedures to make up for the cost of their education. Here I'm not pointing out each and every doctor there, but the ones who are really doing it wrong.  Not only economically but this unnecessary increasing rate of C-section is also causing adverse health effects for mother as well as child. In mothers going through c-sections there are high chances of getting after delivery hip pain, breastfeeding problems, problems in daily activities , headaches etc. Children that are born through c-section have a chance of getting breathing problems, frequent illness, they also show low food demand and get less sleep. Birth of the baby is a sacred process where in such illicit cesarean processes that innocent babies have to witness the brutality of this biased world before actually coming into the world.
We really need to improve the guidelines for clinical practices in conducting cesarean births and create an awareness about this generally ignored but very important social issue and secure the health of our ladies, their obabies and wallets of the nation.
